With very little input from me, the garden sprouted recently with new plant life. The neglected tree behind the shed had received no more than a scattering of chooky poo and some hay from me. And in return - busty, orange cumquats!
The roses, previously mowed, trodden on, entangled in wire, grass-infested received some hay mulch and a  couple of drinks. And for thanks? I got a smoochy rose.
The strawbs and sunnies were a bit more closely attended to. Remember the devastating slashing of rain? I had given up all hope when the first few flower stalks came up leaveless and stark. (The vegemite and water mixture didn't deter any snails but did, however, provide a flavoursome tipple for Neo the boofy dog. He was very appreciative). So I was delighted when I saw the new growth and leafy little storks of sunflowers rising up days after the downpour.
A garden really is very generous.
